Brief Description: The Comfort Group Facility Automation Division installed a 100% Direct Digital Control System for this 24,000 square foot public art center. The Automated Logic INterOp System controls all of the primary and secondary HVAC equipment. Building climate control was a primary concern because fine art and antiquities must be housed in a strict humidity controlled environment with very low tolerances. The alarm software immediately notifies the Building Engineer via modem to pagers of any drift away from setpoints and probable cause.

 The Comfort Group Mechanical Division installed all HVAC and Plumbing systems for this 125,000 square foot historic structure formerly housing Nashville’s Main U.S. Post Office. Average daily manpower on site was 30 persons, with over 45 at project peak.  Systems provided included:

(2) 300 ton helical rotary chillers         (13) air handling units totaling 150,000 cfm

(2) 120 horsepower boilers                 (7) chilled and hot water pumps delivering 1,500 gpm

(13) return air fans                            (6) steam humidifiers delivering 900 pounds of steam per hour

(220,000) pounds of in-house fabricated sheetmetal

Boeing-Delta IV Rocket Manufacturing Facility

Date: February - November 1999
Contract Value: $1.2 million
Brief Description: The ALC system installed by The Comfort Group controls all of the mechanical heating and cooling systems in the 1.5 million square foot facility, central plant and chip handling buildings. The HVAC control systems are crucial to maintaining temperature and humidity due to the thermal expansion/contraction and moisture-sensitive characteristics of the materials used to fabricate the rocket's booster cores.

Dell Computer Manufacturing Facility
Lebanon, TN
Date: Summer 1998
Contract Value: $3.75 million +
Brief Description: This fast-track project involved the installation of HVAC, sheet metal, plumbing, DDC controls and process piping. Process services included a new Power plant, cooling water, steam, natural gas and compressed air. HVAC services included chilled water, hot water and steam.
